The 1975 has stated it has cancelled exhibits in Taiwan and Indonesia – a day after Malaysia banned it from performing there after its frontman kissed a male bandmate on stage and criticised the nation’s anti-LGBT legal guidelines.
“Sadly, on account of present circumstances, it’s unimaginable to proceed with the scheduled exhibits,” the British band stated in a press release.
It didn’t elaborate additional.
The band have been headlining the Good Vibes Pageant in Kuala Lumpur on Friday when Matt Healy staged his protest.
The gig was lower brief and the group have been banned from performing within the Muslim-majority country, the place homosexuality is against the law punishable by 20 years in jail.
The three-day music pageant was subsequently cancelled by the Malaysian authorities.
